Glacier Bay Charter Flights
Fjord Flying Service is a locally owned and operated air taxi & charter service based in Gustavus, Alaska.
Gustavus is the “Gateway to Glacier Bay National Park”. We are also located in Juneau, the capital of Alaska, at the Juneau International Airport.
Some of the more popular locations that we fly to are Juneau, Gustavus, Sitka, Hoonah, Haines, Skagway, Petersburg and Yakutat.
Southeast Alaska is a majestic and beautiful place and we couldn’t think of calling anywhere else home! Our goal is to help you see the true beauty of this little slice of heaven, and help you to reach your final destination, where ever it may be, within Southeast Alaska.

We are a locally owned and operated company, and we would love to share with you this beautiful country from the view of an airplane. Each passenger will get a personal introduction to their pilot, and everyone will get a window seat! We are happy to accommodate any special requests you may have, or handle any special needs you might have. Your comfort and safety are our first priority.
Some of the more popular areas of flight-seeing or touring are in the Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve located west of Juneau, and the many arrays of glaciers and ice fields that surround Juneau, the capital of Alaska.
We can take you on an over flight of this and many other glaciers, from Juneau to the outer coast, or anywhere that you might have pre-determined to see.

- Bartlett Cove – National Park Service Ranger Station & Glacier Bay Lodge
- Dundas Bay – This a popular area of recreation for kayakers
- Taylor Bay – Brady Glacier & Brady Ice field can be seen from here
- Astrolabe Bay – There is a neat rock arch to see here
- LaPerouse Glacier – This is the southernmost glacier that calves directly into the Pacific Ocean
- Lituya Bay – on July 9th, 1958 an 8.3 magnitude earthquake hit Lituya Bay and caused a landslide that created a mega-tsunami of over 1700 ft!
- Desolation Valley – the fairweather fault runs through this valley
- Fairweather Glacier – A forest has grown on top of this glacier
- Grand Plateau Glacier – There is a beautiful lake at the base of this glacier
- Dry Bay – In the summer months, there are groups of rafters that frequent this area, that come down the Alsek River and into Dry Bay. There is also a National Park Service ranger station here.
- Alsek Lake – This lake is connected to the Alsek & Tatshenshini Rivers
- Grand Pacific Glacier – Northern most tidewater glacier in Glacier Bay. Majority of this glacier is in Canada.
- Margerie Glacier – This glacier is located in the northernmost portion of the west arm of Glacier Bay
- John Hopkins Inlet & Glacier – This glacier has the most calving action of any glacier in Glacier Bay. This is also a seal pupping area
- Reid Inlet & Glacier – This glacier comes from the Brady Ice Field and flows into the north end of Glacier Bay
- Muir Inlet & Glacier – Out of all the glaciers in Glacier Bay, Muir Glacier has receded the most.
- McBride Glacier – This is the only tidewater glacier located in the east arm of Glacier Bay
- Marble Islands – Here you will find Sea Lions basking in the sun on the rocks
- Beardslee Islands – These protected waterways are used for recreational purposes such as kayaking
